The Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations for a specific program(s) and staff assignment and direction to ensure that goals and objectives of the organization are met. The Manager provides planning, coordination and administration of the program(s). Maintain rapport with Ministry Child and Family Development, Licensing and manage the program activities. The individual will interpret and make decisions in accordance with prescribed procedures, protocols, confidentiality, and professionalism of MYFRS.



Duties

· Supervise, develop and motivate program workers to: attain program objectives; ensure effective activity planning and childcare related duties; ensure accountability to working within childcare regulations; ensure staff training and professional development meets program objectives. · Monitors the service delivery of workers for structure, consistency, quality, suitability of activities, etc. Discusses problem situations and remedies with workers and may participate directly in the provision of services to resolve difficult or sensitive issues or problems. · Manage the day to day operations. Ensures effective program/services delivery consistent with regulations, MYFRS mandate and policy, legal, contractual, budgetary and other requirements. May develop or make recommendations for the development of new program areas or service improvements. · Help develop and establish standards and accountability/control mechanisms in accordance with established policies; provides advice and recommendations to the Executive Director on significant or cross-agency program and service issues. Develops comprehensive plans and strategies to achieve. · Work within budgetary requirements, financial management and input, operational and organization requirements. Support/participate in childcare program rooms if needed. · Can work with government officials (Child Care, Community Living Services, Licensing, MCFD), community groups, etc.; communicates and/or promotes the agency’s services, funding needs, value to the community etc. If required, represent the agency at community and fundraising events or other official functions. · Prepares reports/conducts special studies, makes presentations. Maintains a current awareness of development in related services (ie. Child Care, Community Living Services, Licensing, MCFD). · Establish relations with, liaise and support capacity building with the Nicola Valley community businesses and agencies.
