The Youth Support Worker will work with the day-to-day operations and program activities assigned to ensure that goals and objectives of the organization are met. The Youth Support Worker will provide kitchen support, program support, school bus driving and administration support. The individual will interpret and make decisions in accordance with prescribed procedures, protocols, confidentiality, and professionalism of MYFRS. The Youth Support Worker will undertake all duties, tasks &/or responsibilities as required by the supervisor/executive director. Performance of other related duties as required. The following outline provides examples and are not limited to: Qualifications/Requirements • Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Early Childhood Development related field – child and youth care, etc. is an asset (or a willingness to get ECE training). • Food safe certificate, first aid or willing to get • Drivers license (ie. class 5 ) is an asset • Knowledge of community resources (ie. MCFD) or how to operate standard office equipment, planning, organizing, and communications. • Must be mature thinking, self motivated and able to work independently. • Interest and enjoyment to work with children/youth. • Demonstrated o Computer skills and software knowledge (MS Office, excel). o Communication skills in oral, written, listening and interpersonal skills o Teamwork &/or individual work, leadership and supervisory skills o Ability to function independently, physically, and good time management   o Willingness to work a flexible schedule. This position is funded by the Canada Summer job which must meet their allowable requirements for candidate.



Duties

Responsibilities · To maintain open and positive communication with the worker, parents and children. Requests input and participation of parents into the development of children’s programs. · To assist with preparation and clean up of activities at the centre. · To help with cooking, clean up and disinfecting. · To advise of any possible concerns or conditions that are occurring that might put the children and youth at risk. · To help program workers in all aspects of the program. · To maintain confidentiality of the clients and centre. Provides emotional support and feedback with the clients. · Maintain client records and pertinent documents. · Practice good working knowledge of family centered role model, & be a positive role model · Facilitates physical, recreational, social and educational activities · Provide basic office, telephone, computers and administration tasks.
