The Financial Manager will coordinate and maintain all financial activities for an efficient operation of the organization. See job description for details. Qualifications/RequirementsEducation and Experience·         Financial or business management certification with from a recognized training institute.·         Skills with financial software applications (Simply Accounting & beanstream payroll), databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required (Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel and Word).·         Knowledge of finance, departmental accounting, budgeting, project management, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.·         Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems, and federal/ provincial financial regulations.·         Extensive financial or cost management experience applicable to private charitable and federal monies.·         Firm foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting standards.·         Sub-contract and sub-agreement financial management experience.·         Experience developing finance and accounting budgets, forecast, policies, procedures and systems.·         Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. ·         Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, not for profit funding and charitable requirements. ·         Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management.  Requirement - Driver License and Abstract, Criminal Record Check



Duties

•      Billing for services once a month to the appropriate Office (i.e. District, Autism, etc.), with the coordinators ensure that the hours assigned do not are in-line with contract(s).  •      Administer the bank accounts and reconciliation•      Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operation of financial and accounting departments. •      Develop and implement the financial policies and systems•      Provide profit and loss statements and financial models to evaluate the society.•      Cash-flow projections, monthly budgets and statements review.•      Assist develop and review of annual operational budgets. •      Assist in the process for fundraising and proposals budgets. •      Long-range financial planning, statistical analysis, and performance standards.•      Assist in financial management mechanisms development to minimize financial risk.•      Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.•      Ensure that society acts in a manner to minimize fraud.•      Attend supervision, team meetings, training and other meetings as required.•      Maintain effective working relationships with society’s external partners.•      Ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to.•      Advise on the proper allocation of resources and project management.•      Responds to phone, email and in person enquiries – providing general information and referring enquiries to appropriate sources based on a broad knowledge of the society’s priorities, procedures, protocols and personnel.
